Why aluminium roller shutters?
Roll-formed or extruded boxes for roller shutters? Which is the right one for my project?
A stable, roll-formed aluminium box for roller shutters is produced from so-called aluminium coil. That means, the already high-quality, coated coiled stock is formed to millimetre precision using roll-forming machinery.
An even sturdier, extruded aluminium box for roller shutters is practically "drawn" in one piece and pressed in a mould. The roll-formed boxs consist of two parts which are slid into each other at a hinged point.
The mill-finish aluminium bulk material is between 1.5 and 2.2 mm thick, depending on the box size. A permanent powder coating based on the RAL colour scale is applied to the surface. For Alulux's brand-name front-mounted roller shutters, the boxes are designed such that they can always be easily accessed for maintenance or cleaning. The hinged point for the opening flap is not visible.
